The Evergreens® is one of the premier continuing care retirement communities in New Jersey and the greater Delaware Valley.  Sponsored by the Episcopal Church since its founding in 1919, The Evergreens has proudly carried out its “commitment to provide older adults with the support, dignity and security of a residential health facility” for over 85 years.

In 1994, The Evergreens® added independent living for active adults over 62 years of age.  This significant growth set forth a substantial change in the scope of The Evergreens®, as it became a continuing care retirement community. 

Today, The Evergreens® faces a substantial challenge - the need to improve the facilities that provide the core healthcare and to update the community center to provide the types of services mandated by active seniors.  To address this challenge they have conceived a multi-phased project – a campus renewal – with the intention of implementing sequential phases to balance efficient execution of the work while maintaining the high level of service residents expect.

The project has been delineated into four distinct phases. 
„X Phase 1 of the project consists of interior renovations to the main kitchen and adjacent dining rooms. 
„X Phase 2 is a new four-story assisted living and skilled nursing building. 
„X Phase 3 is the construction and renovation of additional skilled nursing and community space, requiring the demolition of two existing assisted living wings.
„X Phase 4 is the construction of new independent living units, also requiring the demolition of a current resident building. 

Phases 3 and 4 are scheduled to begin simultaneously following the completion of Phase 2.  Phase 1 reached substantial completion in June 2009.  Phase 2 site clearing began in December 2009 and plans for site work and foundations are planned for June 2010.

Eventus Role

The Evergreens retained Lifescapes for Strategic Planning in 2004 and Aegis Property Group to provide Project Management Services in 2005. In 2006 The Evergreens retained Eventus Strategic Partners to continue the project planning and manage the Implementation Phase.
